The GrizzlyMan Adventure Race is sanctioned by the United States Adventure Racing Association. USARA sanctioning ensures race participants that they will receive a well-planned and organized experience that is safe, challenging, and great fun. 
Specifically, USARA requires race directors to obtain event insurance and racer insurance, adhere to sound race planning principles, develop applicable medical and safety plans, and adhere to ecologically sensitive standards such as those promoted by the Leave No Trace organization.
Each registration includes a one-day membership to USARA, an $8 fee that is typically required above registration fees. This membership entitles racers to many great benefits. See the USARA membership page for details.
